Restorative Dentistry

Why Choose Berwyn Family Dentistry For Your Restorative Dentistry Needs

Dr. B has a talent for restorative services that return your teeth, gums, and bit to their healthiest state. From Implant restorations and Valplast dentures to periodontal disease therapy, we provide treatment solutions for even the most complicated cases.

Pediatric Restorations & Tooth Extractions

At our practice we take the time to work with parents and children to make sure they are using the best brushing and flossing techniques. We recommend fluoride treatments as a preventative measure to help avoid cavities and will restore the teeth with fillings if decay is detected.

For pediatric dental extractions, Dr. B. performs extractions as part of your child’s orthodontic care plan. She numbs and cleans the area of tissue surrounding the tooth and then painlessly removes it from the socket.

Dentures

If you are missing several teeth or all of your teeth, removable dentures can restore functions like your ability to speak and eat, enhance beauty, and restore the health of your smile. There are two kinds of dentures: complete and partial. A complete denture is used to replace all of the teeth in a full dental arch. Dr. B. may suggest an Implant supported complete denture to replace all of the teeth in both arches or just one, depending on your needs. A partial denture is used if you’re missing multiple teeth but have remaining natural teeth. The partial often includes a thin framework or clasps that attach to the natural teeth for a secure fit.

Whichever type of denture best addresses your needs, the appliance will be custom made to fit your smile comfortably, esthetically, and securely.

Much like the other equipment/techniques in her practice, Dr. B. is quite particular when it comes to the dentures she offers.

Cavities & Fillings

At our practice we take the time to work with parents and children to make sure they are using the best brushing and flossing techniques. We recommend fluoride treatments as a preventative measure to help avoid cavities and will restore the teeth with fillings if decay is detected. This common procedure involves removing any damaged areas of your tooth and replacing them with a composite resin. At Berwyn Family Dentistry, we use advanced technology and high-quality materials to ensure that your fillings are sturdy and properly restore your tooth’s health and structure.

For those who are cavity-prone, Dr. B. strongly advises sealants and preventive resin restoration, where applying a thin layer of resin to the deep grooves on teeth to protect them from decay.

Dental Bridge

For the health, function and esthetics of your mouth and bite, it’s important to replace any missing teeth or remove teeth that are beyond saving. If you are missing one tooth or multiple teeth in a row, we may recommend a dental bridge to restore your smile and ability to speak, eat and chew properly. Dental bridges effectively alleviate excess stress on the bite, improve the shape and volume of your face, and prevent the remaining natural teeth from shifting out of position. A fixed, non-removable bridge attaches to existing teeth to fill the gap. It is anchored in place through the use of two dental crowns, which are custom made to fit your smile and placed on the teeth or dental implants next to the space left by a missing tooth. These crowns hold the artificial tooth in place to restore your smile, ensuring that your restoration stays in place. It typically requires two visits to our practice to complete the dental bridge. We will help you determine whether a custom dental bridge is the right choice for restoring your smile after tooth loss.

Crowns

To restore your teeth to their optimal functioning, a dental crown can replace a tooth that’s cracked, damaged, or decayed to the point that a filling will not provide a successful restoration. The crown is custom made to fit over the entire tooth, beginning at the gum line, in order to restore the tooth to its original shape and size. Other purposes for crowns include to anchor a dental bridge, protect a tooth following root canal treatment, to complete a dental implant, enhance the smile, improve a misshapen tooth or strengthen a tooth that’s fractured or weakened.
